Getting Started with EDI

Among DSV’s connectivity solutions is the capability to establish an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) between your systems and DSVs. This automates the exchange of electronic data between DSV and your transport and warehousing systems.

To establish an EDI connection with DSV using one of the EDI standard messages please review the details on this page. It is recommended to review the documentation prior to starting any implementation.

Preferred EDI Communication types

The preferred EDI communication type when establishing a integration between a client organization and DSV is AS2, but both HTTPS and SFTP are secure and recommended communication types as well.

Documentation

Descriptions and documentation for the available DSV Standard message EDI integrations can be found on the EDI Transportation page. On the EDI Transportation page you will find documentation for each message type offered by DSV. Message implementation guidelines for each of the Message Types are included when you download either the EDIFACT D10B or XML Integration Packages for any of the Message Types listed on the page. DSV has a number of standard messages that are available to any partner that can provide or consume the messages as defined.

We also have a page documenting the DSV Security Certificate which can be used to connect with our DSV Standard EDI. Those can be found by visiting the following page: EDI Certificates

If the standard message formats and the security certificates suit your business requirements you can proceed by downloading the Integration Packages on the EDI Transportation page to review the full documentation and specifications for the message types that you are interested in. To download these files for the EDI integration products offered by DSV, you will need to register as a user on the DSV developer portal via the sign-up form if you have not done so already. The process for registering on the DSV Developer Portal is described at the bottom of this page.
